{"id":330,"date":"2008-04-03T07:42:10","date_gmt":"2008-04-03T14:42:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.andrewjohnson.me.uk\/blog\/?p=330"},"modified":"2008-04-03T07:42:10","modified_gmt":"2008-04-03T14:42:10","slug":"live-from-the-antarctic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/andyjohnson.uk\/blog\/2008\/04\/03\/live-from-the-antarctic\/","title":{"rendered":"Live from the Antarctic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve spent most of the day coding and listening to a very cool <a href=\"http:\/\/www.awi.de\/en\/research\/new_technologies\/marine_observing_systems\/ocean_acoustics\/palaoa\/palaoa_livestream\/\">live audio feed<\/a> from below the Antarctic Ekstr\u00f6m ice shelf. Its very ambient and spacey, and has really helped keep me in the zone today &#8211; just as well as I have a major release due to be pushed to our servers overnight tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing much happens: just hissing, bubbly, swishy water noises with the occasional groan and crash as chunks of ice calve away. Very relaxing and, for me at least, focusing.<\/p>\n<p>And the Antarctic just got a bit less remote.
