Some guys at HP&nbsp;Labs have developed a way to automatically determine organisational and leadership structures (which they call &#8220;communities of practice&#8221;) by analysing e-mail traffic. I can imagine some people feeling quite threatened by this, because it identifies the <em>real<\/em>, rather than the nominal,&nbsp;leaders.
